We made it through another winter here in the North East. Come April when the leaves pop, hope awakens anew.
Karen, Gail and I spent several days exploring The Big Easy, tasting the incredible food (yes, I will be making red beans and rice . . . our Lyft driver gave me her secret recipe), listening to the best music (yes, I will be taking my twelve year old Sam to see percussionist, Ciaran Brennan play when he goes on tour this summer, and I will be hoping that Greg at Drago’s will truly be visiting Baltimore where he will prepare his amazing Charbroiled oysters. Just an aside, we closed down the oyster place, and when we asked what happened to all the leftovers and were told they go into the trash, we asked Greg if he would be willing to box them up so that we could give them to people needing dinner. He did it, and we did it.
I was able to do a plethora of photography over my spring break. And now I get to go back to my other life as a teacher at Springdale Preparatory School, and make red beans and rice for my students from the south.
