Those who know me well know that I’m a “Valentine, Shmalentine” girl. Yet this year has to go down in the books as one of my favorites.
A bouquet from my friend, Victoria Clausen, who doesn’t just do flowers . . . she does love by botanicals . . .
my favorite coffee from a favorite colleague on a quick escape . . .
a sweet sentiment from a student who shouted out my “fancy coffee mug” . . .
but best of all . . .
the Valentine’s nuptials of Maxon and Tricia. Maxon was the first person with whom I team taught when I came to Springdale Preparatory School two years ago. Originally Uganadan, he moved south from New York two years ago. We became fast friends when he agreed to spend Thanksgiving with my rowdy crew . . . he chose US over going back to Big Apple Action! Tricia and Ivanka moved from Texas, joining their lives with Maxon, and now their family adventure begins.
Thank you, Maxon and Tricia, for allowing me to document your special day.
Love wins. Every time.
