Sunah + Curtis. Padonia Park Club Wedding.

Time and again they would tell her about this “Curtis Song,” and she’d smile, nod appreciatively, and giggle politely, knowing full well that she’d moved halfway across the country to be a content single woman working at one of the country’s premiere hospitals.  But when her brother took a job with NASA in San Francisco and kept needling Sunah to visit for Christmas, she couldn’t turn him down. After all, the whole family would be there and she needed a little break from the Baltimore cold.

Off she went, bags packed, looking for a California Christmas. And when she arrived, they started plotting. Her aunt made arrangements for Curtis to pop over to say hello. That was all it took. A twelve hour first date, followed by a six hour second date and she was back on the plane headed east. Over the next several months they racked up a ton of frequent flyer miles and spent hours and hours, phone pressed to ear in the middle of night and both realized waking up on opposite sides of the country just wasn’t going to cut it. And it didn’t hurt that he rode motorcycles and collected guns . . . she was due for a little adventure . . .

Sunah and Curtis are a perfect fit. They both spend a huge percentage of their relationship in deep laughter. It’s the sweetest thing. And there is passion, though not the kind of outward display. But it happened in the little moments. The way he was continually aware of her presence, the way he tenderly held her hand,  and the way he took care of her extended family in the chaos of the day. It was the way she’d beckon him and whisper in his ear and he’d handle it. All of it.

Sunah + Curtis, getting to know you has been a privilege. You are the real deal . . . a gracious, joyous couple who truly believes the raw vows that poured from your hearts as you made your promises through tears. You know that it’s the little moments that count and that the journey is sweeter as you hold hands and keep your focus up. It brought me joy untold to be invited into your lives for a time.

Sunah was stunning in her Romona Keveza. She hand crafted a beautiful headpiece which she paired with a retro fur jacket and she looked like a 1940’s goddess.

Sunah and Curtis are not “over the top” people, yet every single detail was stunning. The best of the best, well chosen. Sunah and Curtis agreed to see one another before their ceremony, so that moment could be intimate and real. Ron and I put on our long lenses and stood way back, and watched that tender love unfold. I love it when a bride and groom make that first look a private thing . . .

Best friends. Lovers. Partners in life. Does it get any better than this?? Curtis’s father acted as officiant and his words were full of love and emotion.

Check out the gorgeous bridal bouquet compliments of the very talented Shelly Baker.

Yummy golden pre sunset lighted BLISS!! Pardon my gush.

I think this might be my favorite image from the day! Because they don’t take themselves too seriously. And their lives are going to be full of adventure and that makes my heart sing.
